Witty one-liner goes here
Monday, March 25, 2019: For this week's challenge, I will be working on athletic gear. I received some GOREGOUS strikeoff fabric from Amelia Lane Designs that releases this upcoming Friday. Since I'm sewing it up this week, anyway, I figured it was the perfect time to check this off of my list. I've never worked with athlectic fabric before, so this'll be a new one. I have some Supplex and some athletic brushed poly and I'm planning to sew a sports bra and some leggings. Can't wait to share these makes with y'all. They're gonna be amazing!
Friday, March 29, 2019: I finished up my challenge a couple days ago, but promotion day for my strike fabric is today so I'm sharing! I'm super excited with how my set sewed up. I used Echo supplex and Carribean ABP from Amelia Lane to create the look. The capris are Peg Legs from Patterns for Pirates and the sports bra is The X-Factor from 5 out of 4 Patterns. Both sewed up exactly as I'd hoped, and I hit no issues in the construction process.
When mentally preparing myself to promote this set, a host of mental blocks came up, regarding my body. I'm self-consicous for a bajillion reasons and anytime I see myself with any of those "flaws" visible, I sit on typed posts for a really long time before clicking the "post" button. The sewing community (for the most part) is extremely supportive and constantly reminding me and others how amazing each and every body is. I made sure to share a tid-bit of my journey and was met with sooo much encouragement, while also being thanked for being vulnerable and sharing myself.
I encourage you to step outside of yourself sometimes. Look at all your body has gotten you through. The circumstances you've handled. Health issues you've overcome. The good and bad you've dealt with. The age you are. That beautiful vessel transported you to the very moment you are in, and for that reason, it should be praised. So I'm going to work a little harder and loving myself and being proud of the way I look...flaws and all. How I see it...we are all the most perfect imperfections. I hope to leave you encouraged, friends. ❤️
