Witty one-liner goes here

Sunday, 1/6/2019: Today, I chose my first challenge word for the year. I'm going with "stuffy"! I was asked to make a memory bear for someone and I also wanted to make some as gifts for some sweet children who recently lost their father. I figured this would be a good time to practice using my new pattern ( the Melody Memory Bear from Funky Friends Factory). This week, I will just be using bits of woven I have at home for my muslin. I will be using clothing from a loved one for the finals that I am gifting. Stay tuned as I get started!

Tuesday, 1/8/2019: I actually print and cut out the pattern last night, but that was the only progress I was able to make yesterday. This morning, I went through my woven scrap bin and found a few that kinda go together, so I chose them for this project. Since this is technically a muslin for a later project, I'm not super picky on everything. I did try to make it blend decently, though. All pieces are now cut and ready to be sewn!

Tuesday night, I actually got the time to sew it up. I decided that I want to use a plastic nose, instead of the felt one that the tutorial calls for. I'll finish up tomorrow after grabbing some noses from Hobby Lobby! BTW, it's currently partway stuffed only in the legs and arms so it looks silly. It should be 100% complete by tomorrow. Really happy with how it's come along so far.

Almost done!

Wednesday, 1/9/2018: Today, I finished the bear!! It really was a quicker sew than I thought it would be. I am currently in 4 pattern tests, and kinda had this to work on in between putting patterns together, waiting on the go ahead for next steps in said tests, and sewing. I truly thought I'd be straggling along, trying to get this post finished Saturday night haha. For my first stuffed animal, I really like how it turned out. It reminded me of some skills I need to imrpove on though: hand stitching and hand embroidery. The face isn't perfect and the back where I closed up could be a little better. I'm gonna YouTube and practice a bit before I sew another one of these up, for sure.(P.S. My son and daughter are already fighting over who this belongs to, so I certainly will be making another soon.)

How cute is she?!

That concludes Week 1 for me, y'all!! Guess I'll be finishing up some clothes with the rest of my sewing this week. Week 2 word coming on Sunday, January 13!
